Seascape Golf Club Wedding, Santa Cruz | Mathew & Audrey
The morning of Mathew & Audrey's wedding was a typical foggy Aptos morning. Audrey was getting ready in a room at Seascape Resort. I instantly fell in love with her gown; it's so elegant & classic. Audrey had decided to use the same bouquet of artificial flowers from her mom's wedding in 1989. They still looked just as good as they did 32 years ago! I also loved her blue suede wedding shoes. She has many little blue things in her details.
Audrey also gave her mother a special thank you gift the morning of the wedding. Along with a beautiful thank you card was a unique bracelet. Mathew & Audrey had also gotten each other gifts to exchange that morning before the wedding, including a handwritten card.
Gorgeous as her dress is, it would not have been practical to wear it in a car, so Audrey decided to put her dress on in the locker room at Seascape Golf Club and have a reveal to her bridesmaids. The first look with Audrey's dad was one of the most emotional ones yet. Her dad waited for her up on the Balcony of the Santa Cruz golf course. After turning around to see her, well, his face says it all.
Mathew and his groomsmen had fun hanging out at the restaurant of Seascape. They enjoyed some fine whiskey and cigars together look out onto the beautiful view of the Golf course. Mathew was able to open his present from Audrey. It turns out they both got each other new watches!
The ceremony held on the 10th tee green has a fantastic view overlooking the golf course. On this foggy morning, you could still see the magnificent cypress trees scattered throughout the course, which made the perfect backdrop. The redwood arch was beautifully decorated with blue and white fabric as well as some gorgeous flowers.
First to walk down the aisle was the flower girl, Mathew's adorable niece! She did a fantastic job. As Audrey walked down the aisle with her dad, the emotion ran high. This is still one of my favorite parts at every wedding. That moment the bride and groom see each other for the first time. To make their wedding ceremony even more unique, Audrey's sister, Amanda, was their officiant. Amanda could totally do this full-time! It was a memorable and beautiful ceremony.
I loved the blue bridesmaid's dresses! Each had a bouquet of artificial flowers to match Audrey's bouquet she borrowed from her mom. Even the groomsmen boutonnieres were made of artificial flowers. The star of the bridal party, however, was the cute flower girl!
After the ceremony and family portraits, we were driven down onto the golf course to the special Cypress tree grove for pictures which they nailed, of course! We had just a tiny window of time but made to most out of it before driving ourselves back up to the reception area in the golf carts.
The blue color scheme of the wedding went so well with the newly renovated Monarch room, with gorgeous views overlooking the golf course. Each table number was handpainted by Audrey's talented mother! Above these stood tall vases filled with bouquets of white flowers. Mathew and Audrey are self-declared chocoholics and had a custom chocolate bar as a thank you for each guest!
After making their grand entrance Mathew & Audrey went straight into their first dance. They also honored both sets of parents by having two more dances, with each set of parents playing the song from their first dance at their weddings. What a wonderful way of paying tribute to their parents!
Like most of the wedding, the toast got emotional but was well balanced with funny stories and laughter by their friends and family.
The dance party started early in the evening and did not slow down one bit until the very end. Mathew and Audrey, along with their friends, know how to party! The fun light-up lightsabers, or whatever you call them, also make for great pictures!
Those same light-up sabers made the grand exit fantastic, along with some handmade wands of ribbon and bells! I love the tradition of sending off the happy couple with a grand exit!
Thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
