Pinterest is a great platform where you can save images that you like, and even pictures you don't like. This is a way for you to visually communicate the style of photos you love for your engagement and/or wedding day photos.
Schedule an Engagement Shoot.
Once you hire a photographer, a prewedding photoshoot is an excellent opportunity to get comfortable with your photographer and being in front of a lens. It will make you that much more confident during your photo session on your wedding day. And you'll be able to give your pro feedback on what photos, poses, and cues you liked (and didn't) before your wedding day. Gorgeous save-the-date images are an added bonus.
Schedule Enough Time For Each Section Of The Day.
You must create a timeline for your wedding day! This is something your wedding planner can assist you with. There should be an estimated start and end time for hair, makeup, reception setup, etc. Within that timeline should include all your photo sessions such as the first look, bridal party photos, and couple's session. Minimize Your locations.
You don't want to spend more time traveling around than actually taking pictures or enjoying your wedding party. A great photographer should be able to make almost any location work. Even if you don't love your venue's background options, trust in your photographer's creative abilities. But If you have your heart set on a specific location for your portraits, then let's make it happen!
Hire Quality Vendors.
Quality vendors can influence the flow of your day. You wouldn't want a makeup artist showing up 2 hours late or a photographer with no wedding experience, would you? I suggest hiring quality vendors to avoid the stress that may carry over into your wedding photos. Many great hair and makeup artists will create a schedule to follow. Avoid letting the morning of your wedding turn into a rush of timelines, emotions, and possibly stress.
Pick Your Head Up.
I like to warn couples against keeping their heads down while walking down the aisle. You might be nervous, but keep your head up, even if smiling isn't going to happen. A thoughtful or content look is way better than only the top of your heads!
Schedule The Couples Session During The Best Lighting.
Especially if you booked your venue because of the spectacular view, it's essential to schedule your couple's session during Golden Hour. The romantic hues right before sunset make it my favorite time of day to capture the new Mr. and Mrs.
Schedule Time In Your reception venue.
This is when you finally get to see the reception you've been dreaming, planning, and working on for months. You deserve to see your hard work in its final form! It's an excellent opportunity to capture a genuine reaction and a quick picture on the dance floor practicing that first dance, without wandering guests in the background.
Incorporate An Exit.
Sparkler exits are a great way to end a day of celebrations. Not only are sparkler exits exciting, but it makes for terrific photos. Confetti, bubbles, flower petals, or mason jar lanterns are alternative options for your grand exit and will look great in photos too!

Try not to agonize over the little things that go wrong. And allow your photographer to keep you on schedule, frame the shots, and know what will look best, that's why you hired them! If you're always looking for the camera, it won't capture that sweet moment when you and your spouse share a look or laugh at a joke. Your photographer should be the one worrying about capturing those moments—not you.
