Mathew & Audrey spent many high school and college evenings coming down to this beach in Santa Cruz to spend some time together. It was clear from our conversations that this was a very special place filled with fond memories.
Since I was a kid, I have always loved animals. Cats, chickens, rabbits, dogs, all of them! I really do believe pets make our lives better. I was so excited when Audrey told me that they were planning on bringing their adorable little dog, Laker (named after the NBA team), on our shoot. Laker was the real star of the show.

I was apprehensive about the fog coming in and ruining our sunset. A photographer out in nature, you are at the mercy of mother nature. Here in the Bay Area and especially San Francisco, the fog is both a friend and a foe. It can defuse the harsh sunlight of a mid-day ceremony. Or it can roll over that epic view of the Golden Gate bridge that was to be the background of your shot.
But sometimes the fog waits just long enough to create the most epic, vibrant colors in the sky you could imagine. And luckily for us during this shoot, that is precisely what we got!
Thank you, Mathew & Audrey, for being such great sports and introducing me to Laker. I had so much fun hanging out with you two, and you guys totally nailed it! I can't wait to photograph your wedding in 2021.
